about the house

welcome to THE MOUNTAINS

Our tiny house is located 2 hours southwest of Denver in Florissant, Colorado. Only 1.5 hours from Colorado Springs, we built our little cabin to escape city life. It is our home away from home and we want to share it with you!

Everything runs on solar or propane and it's 100% off the grid. Situated 25 minutes off HWY 24, a four wheel drive, or at least

good tires are recommended in the winter.

The last 13 miles are dirt roads. They are maintained by the county. Kind of.

in the main bedroom

2 narrow twin mattresses- convert to chairs or slide together to make a queen bed. Bring sleeping bags and pillows

in the kitchen

mini fridge/freezer, toaster oven,
4 burner stove with oven. runs off propane.
cutting board and knives, Tea kettle, pod Coffee maker (summer only), small dutch oven, salt & pepper, soap, utensils. Bring paper plates.
no garbage disposal. Liquid only down the sink.

in the living room

in the bathroom

composting toilet- keep an eye on the urine container and empty as necessary
no septic system. dispose of toilet paper in the trash can not the toilet.

We have dead wood around the property, or bring your own.
bring enough water to put it out completely. it gets very windy here.

WATER

Running water is available summer only- May 15th- October 15th

Bring at least 5 gallons of water PER person per day to put under the sink for running water. More if you want to use the shower which uses 1.75 gallons per minute.

In the summer there is a water filling station next to the Fire Station in Florissant. You can fill up your jugs of water there. Bring a short hose. Ace Hardware has them across the street if you forget. One dollar in quarters will get you 20 gallons. They are closed on weekends. There is another one in Divide.
